Pastors of Texas Mega-Churches Share Pulpit

TD Jakes Preaches at Lakewood Church
On Sunday July 25, TD Jakes, the chief pastor of the The Potter's House, a megachurch with 30,000 members, preached at Joel Osteen's Lakewood Church in Houston TX, a church that reaches seven million viewers weekly throughout the world.
Jakes said, “… I think it's a wonderful indication when a ministry like Lakewood ... can come together with Potter's House ... without regard to race and theology ... and just worship God as his sons.” TD also said he watched Joel take his father’s pulpit and prayed for Joel like he was a son. The two met when Jakes called Osteen about hosting a men’s conference. They spent the day together and Joel said that once they met, "it felt like brothers".
